Task 3.2: European database of active faults and seismogenic sources (INGV, AUTH, IST, KOERI, NIEP, NKUA, ROB, MSO, CRAAG)
Fault Sources (FS), Background Zones (BG), and Area Sources (AS) of the SHARE hazard model, status September 2011justify;">The goal of Task 3.2 is to compile a database of active faults and seismogenic sources that cover the entire EuroMediterranean area. Building on previous experiences in this field, common standards for the definition and characterization of active faults and active seismogenic sources will be adopted and consensus will be built by frequent exchanges and through regional meetings. Particular attention will be devoted to Quality Assurance and the characterization of uncertainties and of multiple interpretations, to ensure a homogenous input for use in hazard assessment. The European database of active faults and seismogenic sources, to be used by all project partners and open to all users, will be compiled and maintained by INGV.
The Deliverable D3.4, "Database of active faults and seismogenic sources", has been completed and is currently accessible for participants of the consortium.
