  • 7th Gulf Seismic Forum, Jeddah, United Kingdom of Saudi Arabia: SHARE outreaches to the Middle East and Dr. J. Woessner presented  on issues how to harmonize seismic hazard assessment along the edge of the SHARE / EMME projecs and details of the SHARE hazard model.

  • SHARE project manager attends the CAPHAZ-workshop (caphaz-net.org) on Dec. 15. and 16. in Zürich - Birmensdorf  to discuss and understand issues on social capacity building and outreach possibilities to organizations and communities.

  • WP3 Workshop, March 21-22., 2011, at INGV Milan: Summary meeting to create the Consensus European Earthquake Catalogue (CEEC) for SHARE. For details please contact M. Stucchi.


February 2011

  • WP6 workshop on Portal Developments, Feb. 21-24, 2011, at BRGM Orleans: The goal of the workshop was to review the current achievements of the SHARE portal developments and  to define the next targets with distributed development teams at SED-ETH, BRGM, and Geodeco S.   • German Geophysical Society Meeting, Feb. 21-24, 2011:
    Presentation of SHARE by Project Manager Dr. J. Woessner on Feb. 24, 2011. Programm available at the meeting website.
  • Joint GEM-SHARE-EMME-Central Asia meeting, February 1-3, 2011: The GEM regional Programs SHARE and EMME are moving on to the creation of their PSHA input models starting first hazard calculations. Representatives of the both regional programs and GEM will strengthen collaborations and exchanges on model building and data assessment .  In addition, representatives from the Central Asia will join for exchange of ideas. January 2011

  • WP4 Workshop, January 20-21: This workshop focussed on proposing a logic tree for the Ground motion Prediction Equations (GMPEs). Based on the suggestions of the  five invited experts, the foreground gained during SHARE from the GMPE selection and testing efforts, a proposition could be reached. Remaining open questions will be discussed in a follow-up meeting and during the 2nd annual meeting. in Oslo. For details, please contact: F. Cotton.






November 2010

  • EMME WP1-3 Joint Workshop on 9-11 November, 2010
    The EMME (Earthquake Model of Middle East) Project Hazard Module work packages will have a joint meeting on 9-11 November 2010 in Istanbul. SHARE scientists are invited to exchange ideas on data collection procedures, choices adopted for the implementation of hazard models and the IT infrastructure used and seeking to harmonize the model bulding procedures.   • IBERFAULT meeting: The collaboration of SHARE WP3 scientists with Iberian geologists contributed to the first Iberian Meeting on Active Faults and Paleoseismology, held from 27-29 October in Sigüenza (Guadalajara, Spain). More information at IBERFAULT.org.
  • WP5 Workshop: Model building workshop in Potsdam, October 12-14, 2010. This meeting brought together SHARE scientists to review the achievements in data collection and more closely defined tasks in all aspects of  the model building and implemention process.   • 1st Annual SHARE-meeting: The annual SHARE-meeting will be held in at INGV in Rome (Italy) on June 15 - 16, 2010.  For details please contact J. Woessner and G. Valensise.

May 2010

  • SHARE will be presented at the EGU General Assesmbly 2010. The General Assembly of the European Geosciences Unione will bring geoscientists from all over the world together into one meeting covering all disciplines of the Earth, Planetary and Space Sciences. It will take place from 2-7 May 2010 in Vienna, Austria.
  • Jochen Woessner will present SHARE and GEM at the Geophysical Activity Programme meeting in Karlsruhe, Germany. The event is taking place from 13-16 May 2010.

April 2010

  • WP5/6 Meeting: Model building and implementation meeting in Zurich, April 13-14, 2010. This meeting brings together SHARE scientists to plan all aspects of building and implementing the hazard model. Contact: J. Woessner

  • WP3 Meeting: South-Eastern Europe (Turkey and Greece) in Athens end March 16-17, 2010, Contact: K.Makropoulos (kmacrop@geol.uoa.gr):
    This meeting brought together leading WP3 scientists and experts from Greece and Turkey to discuss available data targeting an update on the existing seismic source zonation. Relations between the projects SHARE and EMME have fostered through the exchange of data and we thank Prof. L. Gülen, Workpackage leader in EMME, for exchanging ideas and data.
